We will be accepting Expressions of Interests from Refashion & Wearable Art Designers + Cosplay Builders from Wednesday the 29th of June to Wednesday the 13th of July. Creatives will be contacted by Friday the 15th of July on the success of their application with our official WornOUT 2022 line-up to be publicly announced on Monday the 18th of July.

After 24 years of serving Brisbane’s community of creatives, educators, bargain hunters and DIY fanatics, we’re not quite ready to call it a day.

For those who may not be aware, we are a registered charity and a worker-run cooperative that is over 98% self-funded.

Our founding directors designed a rule within our Constitution to prevent us from becoming dependent on funding from external sources. They intended to keep us financially and politically independent but also to test whether running a social enterprise without handouts was possible.

As a grassroots organisation, we work directly with business and industry to divert thousands of tons of valuable materials from South East Queensland's waste streams. We have not only made these materials accessible to the public at a low cost, but we've also repurposed them into learning materials for our eco-art workshops and mail order service.

We are proud to have continually supplied resources of hand-picked sustainable art and craft materials for educators across Australia since 1998.

We’ve also supported other environmentally-minded organisations through free/subsidised rent, including:

The shut-downs, school closures, and all-around disruption of COVID over the last two years have left us in a very tight financial position, and we need your help!

WornOUT 2022 : Community Fundraiser

In the past, WornOUT has been a free-entry event. This year it will become a platform to raise the much-needed funds to ensure we can continue to serve our community for another 24 years and be fit and ready to stage WornOUT again for many years to come!

To help us shake off the last two years and get back to our best, you can:

Buy a general or additional pre-event ticket to the Exhibition
Buy a pay-it-forward ticket for someone else who may not be able to afford a ticket
Put a bid in at our live auctions
Give a one-off donation to our GoFundMe
Buy a raffle ticket (either on the night or when you purchase your ticket)
