Making with Leather

Making with Leather

27/05/2023 10:00 to 27/05/2023 12:30 (Australia/Brisbane)

Woolloongabba, Australia

Discover the art of leathercraft and sustainable living in our leather making workshop using salvaged materials!  Join us as we guide you through the process of transforming discarded leather scraps into beautiful and functional pieces.

Our experienced facilitator, Renae Hansen, will teach you the basics of working with leather including basic pattern making and tool use, joining using saddle stitch and embroidery, as well as decorative features such as beading and fringing, all while emphasising the importance of reducing waste and repurposing materials, particularly leather.

With full access to our treasure trove of salvaged materials, participants will leave the workshop with the knowledge and skills to continue making with leather at home and a personalised pouch, bag or accessory to take home.

Beginners welcome, all tools and materials provided, and a light morning tea will also be served.
